Walking through the market near Hazratbal Mosque I noticed this huge fried bread snack being made. The locals call them parathas, but they are cooked more like puris, as they are deep fried. They don’t puff up in the same way as puris, though. They must be popular, as there were quite a few such stands.

    Amazing! Looks similar to the concept of Halwa paratha, common during the month of Ramzan in North and West India
